Meet Patsy Feb 2011
Pale and interesting? Need to lighten up? Patsy has the answer!
Let’s be honest ladies, we’re over a month into our New Year detox and self-improvement regime.
We may have shed a couple of pounds on the scales, be sticking to our new exercise programme, be feeling more energetic and revitalised but are we looking in the mirror and looking paler and less healthy than ever? The first couple of months those of us living in the UK will know that this time of year is notorious for the pale and interesting look. This is where the magic of modern makeup tips and tricks can be worth their weight in ‘bronzer’ - not gold for once!
Starting with a good quality facial self tan the night before, spread evenly over your face and neck (not forgetting to ash hands straight after application – we’ve all gone to a cousin’s wedding with orange palms!) Then the next day apply a layer of tinted moisturiser as a base followed by a sweeping of bronzer in all the spots on your face that the sun would normally touch when you are basking on a Mediterranean beach – the temples, bridge of the nose, forehead and chin. A light ‘pretty pink’ or peach blusher on the apples of the cheeks will brighten up your complexion and is well known to knock of years quite a few years! All this will result in a beautifully natural and convincing new you healthy look.
This is a low maintenance, quick and easy, but in my mind, essential routine to feeling our best and lifting our mood when the clouds never seem to. I often get asked if I’ve been away to a glamorous Caribbean island mid-winter. To preserve my secret I frequently tell people I’ve just nipped away for a quick weekend’s skinning in the exclusive French resort of “La Cosmetique!” It works every time!
Please check in next month of Patsy’s Makeup Tips on how you can look absolutely fabulous for that all-important first date with the man of your dreams and how to avoid some of the classic make-up catastrophes…
