What is IMATS all about?

The International Make-Up Artist Trade Show (IMATS) is the makeup world’s biggest gathering and the only show of its kind in the world. Thousands of make-up artists, makeup vendors, manufacturers and makeup enthusiasts will come together and attend the make-up world’s biggest gathering to discuss, display, discover and collect the best the industry has to offer.

The show is open to everyone. No make-up artist credentials are required to get you in the door. This is the greatest opportunity to come and meet professional makeup artists from fashion, and film (including Oscar, BAFTA and Saturn award winners).

Harry Potter fans… Meet the makeup man behind the scenes

Nick Dudman, makeup effects designer on the Harry Potter films, will headline IMATS London 2011. Nick and his crew from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will give audiences the inside scoop in a live panel discussion as to makeup creations and special effect used in the Harry Potter Films.

 Howard Berger Howard Berger is an exceptional makeup artist whose greatest challenge to date has been adapting The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. This film earned Howard a BAFTA for Best Makeup and an Academy Award for Achievement in Makeup. Howard has also worked on the second and third Narnia films.Howard Berger and the renowned Stan Winston worked together on Predator and Aliens and with Rick Baker on Harry and the Hendersons. In 1988, Berger and Gregory Nicotero opened their own studio, KNB EFX Group, Inc. in Los Angeles. The company KNB has worked on Dances with Wolves, Casino, the Kill Bill films, Inglourious Basterds, Army of Darkness and Sin City.

Neill Gorton Neill Gorton has enjoyed a makeup career spanning more than two decades, Neill Gorton’s company, Millennium FX, has designed make-up effects, prosthetics and animatronic creations for films, TV shows and commercials, credits include Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator, Inkheart, The Wolfman, Doctor Who, Little Britain and Torchwood. Neil Gorton has won six Royal Television Society awards, three Welsh BAFTAs and a BAFTA Craft Award, along with several other nominations. Neill Gorton Gorton Prosthetic Studio, provides training in prosthetics and make-up effects for novice and professional makeup artist.

Laureen Luke now has her own cosmetics line, available in Sephora stores across the United States. She has published books and articles and has contributed to The Guardian newspaper and She has also made many TV appearances as a beauty expert and is working on her own show.
