Carefully measure the ingredients above and put into the heatproof mixing bowl. Fill the steamer with water and bring to boil. Position the glass bowl onto the flat surface of the steamer (where you’d normally put your vegetables). Heat the wax until it becomes runny be careful not to allow wax to boil.
Pinker than Pink Ingredients
Quarter a teaspoon of talcum powder
Quarter a teaspoon of cornstarch
One gram of titanium dioxide
Quarter a teaspoon of FD &C Red 40
Pour each of the ingredients in to the pestle and mortar and mix well making sure that there are no air pockets or solid lumps. Pour the ingredients into the measuring jug. Then add one third of the melted wax base – reheat if wax base has begun to set. Mix thoroughly.
Fill up a large bowl of flour. Take a drinking straw and plug up one end with small amount of plasticine.
Wrap a kitchen towel around the straw and carefully pour the mixture into the open end of the straw. Stand the plugged end of the straw into the floured mixing bowl and leave to stand for two hours or until hard. Sharpen the end to a soft point with a pencil sharpener and your good to go.
