The basis of this summer's make up trends are usually somewhat easy to predict with the reoccurrence of a central theme “the sun” leading way for the designers to fill their shelves with an array on bronzes, coppers and golds. This year is no different as seen in M.A.C.’s Naked Honey line scheduled for international release in June 2009, and Clinique's Bronze Evolves collection.

However.... there is another big theme emerging this summer...be bold, be brave and think peacocks! Indeed with the main focus on dramatic eyes this summer YSL, NARS and Laura Merciers are only a handful of designers who are stepping into the summer with a dramatic collection of eye shadows in bright blues, greens and oranges.

Mixing bright colours with nudes will be a top theme seen about town this summer. It's time to get creative and have fun! Here is a sneak peek at some of the summer 2009 collections to be released.

YSL Summer 2009 Collections
 

Following suite of the summer theme of bold eyes and sun kissed complexions YSL introduces four new exclusive products.

Tresor d'Afrique eye palette • Consists of five shades; ivory, turquoise, plum, navy blue and toffee. To be used in correlation for the dramatic summer eye.

Ever Peacock Blue Mascara • Created for a double lengthening effect this new mascara consists of a new generation brush to enhance lashes and lash growth booster to stimulate growth.

Tresor d'Afrique Collector Sun Powder • This pressed bronzer will give the illusion of a luminous tan and healthy glow.

Touche Eclat Radiant Touch (Light Peach) • This infamous pen-brush designed to erase imperfections such as shadows and discolouration under eyes.

M.A.C. Summer 2009 Naked Honey Line

M.A.C.'s main focus this summer is the introduction of honey in their Naked Honey collection.

Besides the common belief that honey assists in the softening and exfoliating of the skin, it is also stated by many skin care companies that propolis (the extract from the process of making honey) can reduce signs of aging and notably reduce inflammation.

One of the notable products in this new line is an all purpose skin salve which can be used universally over the whole body, but great for hydrating lips and cuticles.


MAC's Eyeshadow Releases Crème de Miele • Light Yellow/Gold shade with frosty finish.
Pollinator • Warm peach shade with red undertone and pearly finish.
Buckwheat • Deep warm brown shade with pearl finish.
